2. Azulik

Having a reputation as one of the most stunning hotels in Tulum, Azulik will not disappoint with Instagrammable spots. The rooms of the hotel are custom treehouses, with some even overlooking the water. There are nest rooftops that are connected by swing bridges that truly give you the feeling of being in a treehouse.

3. Casa Malca

The sign is one of the most popular Instagrammable spots in Tulum! Even though there may be a small line up to get a photo with this sign, we think you should wait it out. Located at Lolita & Lolita Boutique, it is an Instagrammable spot in Tulum that shouldn’t be missed!

6. Ven a la Luz Statue (Come Into the Light)

One of our favourite Instagrammable spots in Tulum, this statue used to be part of the vegan café, Raw Love at Ahua Tulum. Now, this statue has its own entrance just before the hotel/café. This is a popular spot, so we recommend arriving as soon as it opens (9am). We arrived around 10am, and waited about an hour to get our photos. They’ve also set a one-minute time limit for taking photos, so come prepared with the poses and shots you’d like to get!

Admission: 60 MXN pesos, or about $3 USD

7. Cenote Calavera

Located just a few miles outside of Tulum, this relatively unknown cenote is a great place to go swimming. The cenote received its name because it looks like a skull – Calavera translated to English means skull.

Admission: There is an entrance fee of 100 MXN pesos. Only cash is accepted.

8. Tulum Ruins

No trip to Tulum is complete without visiting the ruins. This Mayan archaeological site offers some rich history and incredible views along the coast. Make sure you wear something light and airy as there is not much shade, and it gets very hot during the day!

Admission: There is an entrance fee of 95 MXN pesos. The parking lot is a 10-minute walk from the entrance, so a wagon/bus is offered for an additional 20 MXN pesos.

14. Cenote Nicte-Ha

This cenote is different than the others in the area because it’s not underground. It still has crystal clear water, but with the bonus of hundreds of lily pads floating around with you. If you have the time, this secluded cenote should be added to your list of Instagrammable spots in Tulum.

15. I Scream Bar

I Scream Bar is not your average ice cream parlor, as almost all the ice creams contain alcohol! Head there after the sun sets because that’s when the place really starts to get going! Live music, great food, drinks, and the best ice cream in town – you can’t go wrong! There is even a cute blue tuk-tuk to take photos in front of.

16. Palm Tree Road

This beautiful road is also known as Tulum Beach Road. As you walk or bike along, you will be underneath the jungle canopy and overhanging palms. At some point during your time in Tulum, you’re likely to find yourself on this road, so make sure you take a photo with the palms.

17. Mía Restaurant & Beach Club

This restaurant and beach club is full of great food, drinks, and photo ops! However, be forewarned, that this Instagrammable spot in Tulum does come with a price. To gain access to the beach club, you’ll be required to spend a minimum of $35 USD per person at the bar. The benefit of this, however, is that there are fewer people, which means more time for you to take the perfect photo!

18. Gran Cenote

This is considered one of the best places to snorkel and cave dive in Mexico! The Gran Cenote is actually home to several smaller cenotes, all connected to each other. This will really make you feel like you’re swimming in the jungle! A bonus of visiting the Gran Cenote is that it is home to all kinds of marine wildlife.

Admission: The Gran Cenote entrance fee is 180 MXN pesos or $10 USD. Only cash is accepted.

19. Tulum Jungle Gym

One of, if not THE most, unique gyms in the world! This Flintstone-style gym has everything you need for a good workout. It has the classic log bench press, stone dumbbells, and even marble kettlebells. If you are into fitness or want to pretend you are, this spot has everything you need!

Admission: A day at the Tulum Jungle Gym will cost 600 MXN pesos or $35 USD. But we think it’s well worth it for this unique gym experience (and Instagram photo op).

20. Cenote Zacil-Ha

This smaller cenote really should not be passed on. Its beautiful blue waters are the perfect background for your Instagram photo. If you get there early enough, you may even get the whole place to yourself!

This mojito bar is an absolute must-visit in Tulum! Batey offers authentic Mojitos that are not only delicious but also an excellent accessory for any photo. You may have also seen the funky decorated Volkswagen Bug sitting out front of the bar!

22. Dos Ojos Cenote

Probably one of the most Instagrammable cenotes in all of Mexico. With crystal clear blue waters, this is one of the best places to go snorkeling! Make sure you arrive right when it opens if you want to get photographs alone.

24. Gitano

Gitano has all the jungle vibes. This place truly starts to come alive at night when the beautiful string lights are turned on, and the candles are lit. Offering dinner, drinks, and live music, this restaurant/bar should be on your list of Instagrammable spots in Tulum!

25. Cenote Taak Bi Ha

Located a bit off the beaten path, this cenote is less crowded than others. Visiting Cenote Taak Bi Ha will give you the chance to explore the Mayan underground. Don’t worry about lighting because they have taken the time to perfectly light the cenote for photos.

Admission: There’s an entrance fee of 350 MXN pesos. A guided tour is an extra 50 MXN pesos. Cash is recommended.

Tulum’s newest adult-only hotel is a diamond in the rough. With the already overly saturated market of unique hotels in Tulum, Kanan needed to do something big. And that’s exactly what they did! We are pretty sure this hotel had to be designed with Instagram in mind because, in every nook and cranny, there is a perfect photo op.

28. Suytun Cenote

Suytun Cenote is easily the most famous cenote in all of Mexico. There is a crack at the top, and when the light is just right, a sunbeam will shoot down into the middle of the cenote. We can thank the Mexican government for the beautiful stone pier that goes out into the middle of the water. Early afternoon is the best time to visit because you have the highest likelihood to get the perfect sunbeam, but be warned it does get busy!

Admission: The Suytun Cenote entrance fee is 100 MXN pesos or $5 USD. Cash is recommended.

29. Coba Ruins

One of the only Mayan ruins that you can still climb (as of 2019). If time permits, it is well worth the 45-minute drive from Tulum. Once you arrive, rent a Mayan Taxi to take you to the pyramid and start your climb. At the top, you’ll be rewarded with a view of the jungle as far as the eye can see!

One of the most popular attractions in all of Mexico is Chichen Itza. This New Wonder of the World is located two hours from Tulum, but is a must-visit if you have enough time! Not only will it help you understand the Mayan history, but the pyramid serves as the perfect backdrop for your Instagram photo! Plan accordingly – there is very little shade, and the sun is always beating down!
